ATP Finals TV Preview
The ATP Finals – the most prestigious on the ATP calendar – draws the 2019 season to a close. The ATP Finals is the moment when the ATP’s top eight players go head-to-head to determine the overall Champion for the season. In this year’s competition, Alexander Zverev will be hoping to defend his title, whilst Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic will be looking to win a 7th and 6th title respectively.
Out of all of the players taking part in the ATP Finals 2019, World Number One Novak Djokovic has won the most ATP ranking events across the season, with a total of four, including Wimbledon and Australian Open singles titles. He also took the honours at the Madrid Open and the Japan Open, making him a clear favourite for this year’s finals.
With only this final date remaining on the 2019 calendar, it’s still all up for grabs. The likes of Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Daniil Medvedev are all in strong form going into the competition, so anything can happen when play gets underway at London’s O2 Arena, November 10.
The O2 Arena has staged the ATP Finals since 2009, and each year a purpose-built hard court is laid for the competition. Played over seven days with a capacity crowd of 16,000 people, it has become the UK’s second-largest tennis event behind Wimbledon. The event is the fifth-biggest annual tournament in men’s tennis outside of the four grand slams – with the likes of Andy Murray, Nikolay Davydenko and Grigor Dimitrov all tasting recent success.
