The home Cricket World Cup and Ashes series will be two of 2019’s biggest sporting events. With Sky TV’s Sky Sports Cricket pass, you’ll be sure to catch every moment of this summer’s action.
From England and Wales hosting the 2019 Cricket World Cup – which started on the 30th of May and runs all the way to the 14th of July – to the upcoming home Ashes series, it’s going to be one of the biggest summers of cricket in recent memory.
Not only is the cricket action actually being held on these shores, but England is grappling with something that is a little unfamiliar – favouritism. England was named favourites by bookies and pundits alike ahead of the two major tournaments of the summer – a welcome change from past years when the inventors of the game were occasionally turned into whipping boys.
Led by captain Joe Root, the England squad is a mix of wily veterans and talented youngsters who have surged to the top of the ICC ODI rankings. The England squad – who will be overseen by coach Trevor Bayliss in his final tournament – hoping to claim their country’s first ever ODI trophy to add to their 2010 capture of the Twenty20 World Cup.
Where can I watch?
Besides England playing in their preferred conditions, the other great thing about a home Cricket World Cup is that the time-zones are perfect. No more late nights or early mornings leading to sunglasses and pots of coffee in the office.
Sky Sports is showing all 48 matches of the Cricket World Cup – from the group stages to the knockout and final.
