Introducing Now TV
If there’s one thing a lot of people dislike about pay TV, it’s contracts – and it seems that no mater where you look for a pay TV service, whether it’s via satellite or cable, there’s a contract involved. That’s not great for a whole lot of people – especially renters, who can’t always guarantee they’ll be living in the one place long enough to see out a long-term contract.
That’s where Now TV comes in. Set up by TV veterans at Sky as an alternative to the conventional ways of accessing premium television, Now TV lets customers subscribe and unsubscribe at any time, without contract penalties or the need to plan ahead.
What Makes Now TV Different?
Unlike the majority of premium TV services in the UK, Now TV is set up entirely as a TV platform that’s delivered by broadband internet. And that means any broadband internet – unlike many UK TV providers, Now TV isn’t tied to internet or phone plans and services. You provide the connection, whether that’s home broadband, mobile data or even a friend’s wi-fi. The idea is to keep things simple – you just pick one or more of the TV Passes, sign up and start watching.

What Do the Now TV Passes Contain?
Similar to channel packs with conventional pay TV services, the TV Passes each give you access to a group of themed channels. You can try each pass for 7 days free of charge to see if it’s something you’d want to pay for, then the pass is added to your account for a month, giving you access to all of its channels. You can cancel before the month is out and that’s all you’ll pay (but you get to keep watching for the rest of the month, of course) or you can let the Pass auto-renew each month if you want to keep those channels around. Basically, it’s a menu that lets you build your own TV service that fits what you like to watch.
Here’s what’s available on the TV Passes menu – and what each one contains.
Entertainment Pass: Access to over 300 TV box sets streamable on demand – including seven seasons of Game of Thrones, and brand-new episodes streaming on live channels or accessible on demand as they go to air. It’s a TV drama fan’s dream. Available in one-month and three-month versions.
Sky Cinema Pass: Opens up the huge multi-channel world of Sky Cinema, with themed channels playing movies 24 hours a day and over 1,000 movies available to stream on demand.
Kids Pass: All the kids’ favourite channels and access to thousands of ad-free shows for the little ones on demand.
Sky Sports Pass: If you love your sports, this is where it’s at, with the biggest live games and events across Sky’s acclaimed range of sports channels. You can get a one-day pass to catch the game, a week-long pass to get an entire round in, or the full month pass that opens up complete access to all 11 of Sky Sports’ channels on your TV. If you just want to keep up with the games on mobile, there’s also a 5-channel Mobile Month Pass available. And for F1 fans, there’s a season ticket to the F1 channel that gives you your favourite motorsport at a bargain price.
Hayu Pass: The home of reality TV delivered hot and fresh from the US, Hayu offers thousands of hours of the best reality TV on the planet.
